June bunker fuel sales rise 2% on year to 3.92 3.92 mil mt

Bunker fuel sales in Singapore in June rose 2.2% year on year to 3.92 million mt, preliminary data released Friday by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore showed.

June sales were however, down 8.4% from 4.28 million mt in May. Sales in June are also at a one-year low. Singapore bunker sales were last lower at 3.84 million mt in June 2017, MPA data showed.
Vessel arrivals in Singapore for bunkering fell 7.34% year on year to 3,130 in June, and were down 3.31% from May, the data showed.
Bunker fuel sales in June comprised 2.80 million mt of 380 CST high sulfur fuel oil, 29,100 mt of 180 CST HSFO, 852,900 mt of 500 CST HSFO, 107,500 mt of low sulfur marine gasoil, 13,800 mt of 380 CST low sulfur fuel oil, 7,600 mt of 180 CST LSFO and 55,100 mt of marine gasoil.
At 11,000 mt, 500 CST LSFO sales were at a record high, while 380 CST LSFO sales came in at a 16-month high, the data showed. Sales of 380 CST LSFO were last higher at 15,700 mt in February 2017.
There were no sales of marine diesel in June, the data showed.
Sales of bunker fuel classified as others totaled 49,600 mt in June, down 53.5% from May.
The HSFO grades have a maximum sulfur content of 3.5% and LSFO has maximum 1% sulfur, in line with MPA regulations.
