In dry market, King Sail (177k dwt/2002) & Lin Jie (177k dwt/2003) were sold to undisclosed buyer for USD 28m enbloc. IVS Cabernet (177k dwt/2007) was sold to Goodbulk for USD 20m. Oldendorff was linked to yet another deal with purchase of Boavista (93k dwt/2010) for USD 10m. HOSCO was linked to purchase of HB Princess (81k dwt/2013) for USD 17.5m. Privatlantic (75k dwt/2012) was sold to Ocean Longevity for USD 18.5m. Tsuneishi Zhoushan SS – 213 (63k dwt/2017) was sold to Chinese buyer at an undisclosed price. Pacific Korea (56k dwt/2012) was sold to Singapore based buyer for USD 12m. Unisea purchased Ocean Leader (56k dwt/2010) for USD 14.7m. Greek buyer has been linked to purchase of Ocean Prosperity (51k dwt/2010) for USD 12.7m. In tanker market, Gener8 Pericles (105k dwt/2003) was reportedly sold to Greek buyer for USD 11m. Coral Shipping was reported as buyer of Tanja Jacob (73k dwt/2003) at an undisclosed price. In containership market, Atlantic Altair (5,075 TEU/2005) was sold to Cyprus Sea Lines for USD 8.9m. Clivia (4,132 TEU/2004) was sold to Simatech Shipping for USD 8m. HS Discoverer (2,747 TEU/2003) was sold to Atlantica Shipping for USD 6.3m.
New Building
Pantheon Tankers ordered 2+2 units of MR tankers at STX Offshore, S. Korea for USD 33m per ship, with delivery expected in 2019. Socatra ordered 2+1 units of 7,950 dwt tankers at Avic Dingheng, China for undisclosed price and delivery expected in 2019. Foremost Group ordered 2 units of 85,000 dwt bulkers at Oshima, Japan with delivery expected in 2020. Angelakos Hellas ordered 2+2 units of 82,000 dwt bulkers at YZJ, China for USD 24m with delivery expected in 2019. Bahri Dry Bulk inked deal for 4 units of 80,000 dwt bulkers at Hyundai Mipo, S. Korea for USD 30m per ship, with delivery expected in 2020.
Time Charter
In tanker market, Mediterranean Glory (319k dwt/2004) was fixed to Koch for 24 months at USD 16,000 pdpr. Kalamos (281k dwt/2000) was fixed to IOC for 24 months at 23,000 pdpr. Vitol took a couple of suezmax tankers, Hyundai HI – Hull 2887 (153k dwt/2017) & Ottoman Courtesy (153k dwt/2017) for 12 months each at USD 14,000 pdpr. LR2 Pioneer (115k dwt/2008) was fixed to ST Shipping for 12 months at USD 14,500 pdpr. In dry market, Hemingway (208k dwt/2017) was fixed to K-Line for 12 months at USD 21,000 pdpr. Uniper chartered-in Cape Hawk (177k dwt/2006) for 6 months at USD 18,350 pdpr. Pan Dream (175k dwt/2011) was fixed to Classic Maritime for 6 months at USD 16,800 pdpr. Maritime King (95k dwt/2011) was fixed to Jaldhi for 6 months at USD 12,000 pdpr. Ultrabulk chartered-in Darya Devi (82k dwt/2013) for 6 months at 11,250 pdpr.
Demolition
In demolition market, VLCC Maran Centaurus (48,703 LDT/1995) was sold as is Singapore for USD 404/LDT LT with delivery to Bangladeshi Breakers. OBO Karadeniz Powership Esra Sultan (18,400 LDT/1996) was sold to Bangladeshi Breakers for USD 410/LDT LT. Tanker Eagle Boston (16,727 LDT/1996) was sold to Bangladeshi Breakers for USD 389/LDT LT. Reefer Baltic Merchant (5,955 LDT/1988) was sold to Indian Breakers for USD 405/LDT LT.
