The general director of Sistan-Baluchestan Province’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) stated to MANA correspondent that in the light of the plans and constructive international negotiations which have been made between the authorities, a passenger shipping line on Chabahar -Karachi ports route is supposed to be launched in the near future.
Dr. Kambiz Moshtagh also remarked: launching a passenger line between Chabahar and west ports of India could be regarded as another significant step in expanding marine voyages from Chabahar to Oman sea regional countries.
This official acknowledge that launching this passenger line would bring about a maritime tourism boom in the southern parts of Iran.
Referring to strong ties between Iran –India in maritime sector, Moshtagh said: expanding port infrastructures and developmental plans of Chabahar port are being currently done by India.
He further stated: in the upcoming two years, Chabahar port will enjoy very high potentials and capabilities for international exchanges in maritime sector among regional countries, thanks to the establishment of the developmental plan.
Emphasizing that Chabahar could be turned into as a hub for maritime tourism, the director of Sistan-Baluchestan Province ICHTO also hoped that: with absorbing more foreign and private investors, we would witness a significant boom in maritime tourism in this region.
