According to MANA, Local media said the 10,100-dwt Sigma (built 2005) dragged its anchor in gusts of up to 50 knots at Livorno on 13 January.
The ship, with 18 crew on board, was not carrying cargo.
A patrol boat and a port tug tried to prevent the grounding, but without success.
The vessel was then emptied of ballast water and connected to a tug for a refloating attempt.
AIS data shows it moored at Livorno on Monday morning.
Sigma is operated by Intresco of Austria.
