The port of Singapore handled higher container volumes in September over the year-ago period, but volumes dipped month-on-month, according to preliminary figures from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
According to MANA, Last month’s throughput came up to 2.6m teu, representing a rise of 7% compared to 2.43m teu seen in the same month of 2015.
On a month-on-month comparison, September volumes dipped by 3% from 2.68m teu in August.
In the first nine months of 2016, Singapore port moved a total throughput of 23.04m teu, down 2% from 23.51m teu in the same period of last year.
