Fujian Shipbuilding wins order to build two tankers
China’s Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding has won an order to build a pair of 6,500 dwt product tankers for an unnamed Malaysian shipowner.
According to MANA, Details of the newbuilding order were sketchy as the delivery dates and contract value were not disclosed in a brief statement announced by the Chinese shipbuilder.The order for 6,500-dwt capacity tankers is the first ever for Fujian Southeast, as the yard has so far constructed product tankers of 1,500-3,800 dwt in capacity.
Fujian Southeast said ABS has been appointed as the classification society for the tankers.
