Chinese orders rise 44.7%

Newbuilding orders won by Chinese shipbuilders have increased in the first six months of the year providing a positive sign for the domestic shipbuilding industry.

Chinese orders rise 44.7%According to MANA,The Chinese ministry of information and industry technology said the country’s shipyards received 16.2m dwt of new orders in the first half, an increase of 44.7%.
As TradeWinds has reported, some of the latest orders placed in China include a VLCC quartet originally meant for John Fredriksen and four medium-range (MR) tankers ordered by Sweden’s Wisby Tankers.
