NITC Seeking Foreign Finance

In an interview with MANA correspondent, The director of National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) remarked: his company aims at the development and renew of its fleet. for accomplishing these goals, he added, we will make best out of all domestic and foreign capabilities.
National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) is seeking to access to cheap foreign sources ,hence the finance issue is recognized as an investment, The director of NITC further stated: in this light ,we have also achieved successes with countries like South Korea and China. that ship launching and ship repairs programs and concentrating on them is the main necessity for gaining science in ship building. He asserted that Iran has a fleet of 500 very large vessels, and if we could use this capacity to launch and repair, and hence gain credit and experience, we could achieve a domestic shipyard with a desirable class. Of course, this will not happen unless we are supported by Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO), Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line (IRISL), and NITC.
In response to the question as to the post-JCPOA plans of NITC, he replied that all the sanctions in the field of shipping – namely insurance, flag issues and classification – have been lifted, and the only remaining matter for which we are currently negotiating is the banking issues. We need to activate NITC accounts and renew our collaboration with banks. For sure, it should be added that some of our accounts outside Iran have been activated, yet we are in need of more negotiation for this process to be fully mature.
In response to the question as to which European country is the first destination for NITC‘s ships in the post-JCPOA era, Safaeei asserted: in the near future, the first European country which would the host of NITC‘s ships would be announced.
With regards to the promoting Iranian National Tanker Company (NITC) activities , the member of Iran Ship owners Association remarked: we have commenced our activities in Europe and international level, NITC ,he added, as the biggest company in the world ,it is prone to increasing its capability and extend its activities in throughout the world.
