Second ECO-Class tanker to be Built in San Diego

General Dynamics NASSCO has christened the second ECO-class tanker for American Petroleum Tankers (APT), which is under construction at the company's shipyard in San Diego, USA.

According to MANA, The ‘Magnolia State’, is the second of five 186-metre-long tankers to be constructed by NASSCO for APT.
The vessels are 50,000DWT LNG-conversion-ready product carriers with a 330,000-barrel cargo capacity. The ships were designed by DSEC, a subsidiary of Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) of Busan, South Korea.
The design incorporates a G-series MAN ME slow-speed main engine and have dual-fuel-capable auxiliary engines.
