In dry market, BBG Ambition | 82k/2009 was sold to Greek buyer for USD 19m. Greek buyer was linked to purchase of Annabell | 75k/2010 for USD 14.3m. Thrush | 53k/2011 was sold to undisclosed buyer for USD 11.3m. Greek buyer was linked to purchase of Nordic Riga | 35k/2010 at an undisclosed price. Far Eastern buyer was linked to purchase of SSI Spring | 32k/2007 for USD 10.5m. Italian buyer purchased 2 x handy bulkers viz. North Wind | 29k/2011 & South Wind | 29k/2011 for USD 8.8m per ship. Handy bulker Zeus I | 27k/2009 was sold to Greek buyer for USD 6.4m. In tanker market, MOL sold VLCC Vega Trader | 299k/2003 to New Shipping at an undisclosed price. In an internal deal, Navios purchased VLCC Nave Galactic | 297k/2009 for USD 44.5m. MR tanker Mahika | 36k/1994 was sold to an undisclosed buyer for USD 3.2m. In containership market, Maersk Lines purchased 6 x containerships in a bank deal from Commerzbank for USD 280m enbloc. In gas carrier segment, VLGC Toyosu Maru | 78k cbm/1997 was sold to Hong Kong based Kunlun Shipping for USD 19.5m.
New Building
In the new building market, GSD ordered 50k dwt tanker at Hyundai Mipo, S. Korea for USD 35.5m, with delivery expected in 2019. Navig8 ordered 8 units of 50k dwt tankers at New Times, China with delivery expected in 2019. Kirishima Kaiun Shokai ordered 10k dwt tanker at Hakata, Japan with delivery expected in 2019. Osaka Asahi Kaiun ordered 3 units of 63k dwt bulkers at Mitsui, Japan, with delivery expected in 2019-2020. Fednav ordered 31k dwt bulker at JMU, Japan with delivery expected in 2020. Itochu ordered 2 units of 1,800 TEU CV at Hyundai Mipo, S. Korea, with delivery expected in 2019.

LDA took Necklace | 92k/2012 for 6 months at USD 14,900 pdpr. Aquavita took Yangtze Xing Xiu | 81k/2013 for 6 months at USD 14,750 pdpr. Omicron Trader | 76k/2001 was fixed to Bunge Ltd. for 6 months at USD 14,250 pdpr. Navios Aldebaran | 76k/2008 was fixed to Norden for 12 months at USD 14,500 pdpr. Spring Cosmos | 63k/2014 was fixed to U Ming Marine for 12 months at USD 14,000 pdpr. Bunun Brave | 45k/2014 was fixed to Gregale Shipping for 6 months at USD 16,000 pdpr. Tanker Pacific Trader | 16,600 LDT/1998 was sold for USD 432/LDT LT, with delivery to Indian Subcontinent. Tanker Korea Venus | 8,673 LDT/1988 was sold as is S. Korea for USD 410/LDT LT. GC vessel Denny Z | 5,823 LDT/1989 was sold as is Ghana for USD 240/LDT LT. Containership Ninos | 5,235 LDT/1990 was sold as is Colombo for USD 478/LDT LT.
