Densa Shipping bought CS Soraya (57k dwt/2010) for USD 10.5m. In tanker market, K-Line VLCC Isuzugawa (299k dwt/2004) was reportedly sold to S. Korea based Sinokor for USD 25.8m. FD Sea Wish (40k dwt/2002) was sold to Nigerian buyer for USD 7.5m. In containership market, Euroseas purchased EM Athens (2,506 TEU/2000) & EM Oinousses (2,506 TEU/2000) at an undisclosed price.
In the new building market, 400,000 dwt bulkers were ordered by various owners including Pan Ocean (4 units), Korea Line Corp (2 units), H Line Shipping (2 units), SK Shipping (2 units) and Joint Venture – ICBC/CMB (10 units), on the backing of TC to Vale at Chinese & S. Korean shipyards. Itochu ordered 34k dwt bulker at Hakodate Dock, Japan with delivery expected in 2019. Toda Kisen ordered 2 units of 5k cbm gas carriers at Sasaki, Japan, with delivery expected in 2019. Silverseas Cruises ordered 596 pax. vessel at Fincantieri, Italy for USD 373m, with delivery expected in 2020. Coral Princess Cruises ordered 6,000 GT vessel at Vard Holdings, Norway, with delivery expected in 2019. Grandi Navi Veloci ordered 4+4 units of 5k dwt RoRo vessels at Guangzhou, China at an undisclosed price.
In tanker market, VLCC Gem No. 5 (300k dwt/2017) was fixed to Koch Logistics for 24 months at USD 29,000 pdpr. They also took VLCC Eagle Victoria (299k dwt/2016) for 36 months at USD 29,000 pdpr. Shell chartered-in SKS Satilla (158k dwt/2006), SKS Segura (158k dwt/2007) and SKS Spey (158k dwt/2007) for 6 months at USD 13,500 pdpr per ship. Ausca Shipping took Lyric Sun (81k dwt/2011) for 6 months at USD 12,250 pdpr. In containership segment, CMA CGM took 4 vessels (10k TEU/2018 each) for 36 months each at USD 29,000 pdpr. Crete I (7k TEU/2009) was fixed to ZIM for 6 months at USD 17,000 pdpr.
