The ship’s eleven crewmembers were rescued following the incident which occurred on August 27 in the Black Sea, according to media reported by MANA correspondent.
Turkey’s General Directorate of Coastal Safety deployed eight ships, including search and rescue towboats, to the scene.
Half of the vessel was allegedly towed to the beach, while the other half remained in the water and was gradually sinking.
The Mongolia-flagged Leonardo was reportedly sailing to the Tuzla dockyard in Istanbul where it was scheduled to undergo repairs.
