Foreign Countries to Invest in Qeshm Bunkering phases
The managing director of Qeshm Free Zone stated: countries such as China, Dutch, Swiss have shown keen interest in investment in bunkering industry in Qeshm Island, which would contribute to reach the purpose of increasing the storage capacity up to 100 million barrels.
In the inauguration ceremony of the first phase of Qeshm Star Bunkering Project, Hamid Reza Momeni proposed: with the launching of the first phase of bunkering project, Islamic Republic of Iran would be able to regain its share in utilizing the strategic position of Persian Gulf as well as supplying the fuel of the vessels, MANA correspondent reported.
pointing out that 5000 vessels pass through the Persian Gulf for bunkering monthly, he continued: we are strongly determined to regain our lost share.
Momeni also stressed that through absorbing and utilizing foreign investments as well as establishing catering, building hotel, supermarket and providing repair and spare part sector alongside bunkering site, we all should try to make the best out of the existing potentials.
