The Port of Hong Kong saw its second consecutive month of throughput increases in November, with the number of containers handled rising 10.1% to 1.76m teu but once again off a low base of 1.60m teu in the previous corresponding period.
For the year-to-date, throughput is still down 4.0% at 17.76m teu and the port is set for yet another year of slow decline and sub-20m teu volumes, MANA correspondent reported.
At the main Kwai Tsing terminals, throughput rose 10.3% to 1.37m teu from 1.24m teu previously.
