A Declaration Signed against the Shipping of Counterfeit Goods

MSC has formally declared its “zero tolerance” to the carriage of counterfeit goods by maritime transport.

A Declaration Signed against the Shipping of Counterfeit Goods
MSC said it had formally signed a declaration under Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP) designed to prevent the movement of counterfeit goods at sea, MANA correspondent reported.
The container line said it exercise due diligence to spot unacceptable goods, raise awareness of the issue and maintain a programme of training.
“MSC has always held very strong views concerning the transportation of counterfeit goods and has tried hard to ensure that no customer is involved in such activity within our supply chain,” said Pasquale Formisano, senior vp of MSC.
“Signing this declaration is further confirmation of our attitude toward such practices, and of our determination to work consistently with our peers and the appropriate customs authorities toward eradicating counterfeiting and piracy from maritime transportation.”
