NITC, Norway to Cooperate in LNG Transportation

Managing Director of National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) Ali-Akbar Safaie said that Iran is ready for cooperation with Norwegian companies for transportation of LNG.

NITC, Norway to Cooperate in LNG Transportation Safaie made the remarks in a meeting with State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries Dilek Ayhan in Tehran on Saturday.
He said with implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), more ground would be available for cooperation between Iran and Norway.
He went on to say that the NITC is cooperating with a large number of the Norwegian companies in supply of ship parts and equipment, insurance, ranking and class. "We hope cooperation with Norwegians will expand."
Also referring to huge gas reserves, Safaie said Iran has extensive plan for gas production and exports.
Among other grounds for cooperation with Norwegian companies is maritime fueling, he said. "Iran has a good advantage and position in the sector."
Ayhan, for her part, said her country is ready for expansion of cooperation with the NITC in various sectors.
She also touched on implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and its impact on Iran-Norway ties and said, "We are ready to upgrade cooperation with the NITC in supply of ship parts, ranking, class and maritime transportation related fields."
She also referred to interest of Norwegian maritime and shipping companies in expansion of cooperation with the NITC and said, "We are ready to cooperate with the NITC in the LNG projects and the LNG ships."
