Hanjin Shipping selects three safe base ports

Hanjin Shipping vessels are to be directed to specified ports in Asia, Europe and the US were containers can be unloaded without the fear of vessel arrest.

Hanjin Shipping selects three safe base portsAccording to MANA, Singapore, Hamburg and Los Angeles have been selected reports the Yonyap News Agency quoting a South Korean government task force on the Hanjin-related logistics crisis.
The task force says that out of Hanjin’s 98 containerships only 36 are operating normally with the remaining 62 disrupted.
“The top priority is to help Hanjin ships have their freight safely offloaded in the port,” said the official.
However, the vice minister said Hanjin and its major shareholders are responsible for the costs related to discharging cargo from the vessels.
“The government has no plan to provide payment guarantee or support fiscal injection, as it is a matter between the shipper and consignor,” he said.
