Chabahar-Oman Passenger Shipping line to be Launched
The General Director of Maritime and Ports Organization stated: the relationship between Oman-Chabahar is deemed as a paramount and strategic relationship.
In the meeting with two Omani secretaries and economic –commercial activists ,Mohammad Saeeid Nejad in Chabahar remarked: in a long-term policy which has been adopted by Iran’s government for the development of East-axis ,Chabahar plays a significant role, MANA reported.
Referring to the his last week travel to Oman, Saeeid Nejad stated: our invitation was warmly welcomed by Omani government, and they sent a high-profile commercial and economic delegation.
Deputy Secretary of Road and Urban development added: Chabahar port enjoys a short maritime distance with Oman and Bab-El-Mandeb, which could be regarded as a privilege for both countries.
Moreover, Mohammad Saeeid Nejad asserted: due to paying special attention to Chabahar by government, its infrastructures is progressing quickly.
With reference to the historical, commercial and political ties between Iran-Oman, he continued: the relationship between Oman-Chabahar is deemed as a paramount and strategic relationship.
The General Director of Maritime and Ports Organization clarified: the Iranian government is responsible for the development of Shahid Beheshti Port in Chabahar ,but the necessary investment for supplying port equipment is allocated by Indian government.
Mohammad Saeeid Nejad further stated: the private sector is responsible for providing all port facilities -including export and import warehouse of mineral material, wheat silos, food material, maritime bunkering service as well as preparing the equipment of exporting and importing goods.
The General Director of Maritime and Ports organization announced that Chabahar-Oman shipping line will be officially launched before the end of the current year.
This economic-commercial delegation paid a visit to Chabahar port with the aim of the promotion trade ties between the two countries, and also observed the development design of ports, Makran Petrochemical suburb, the capabilities and capacities of port and Free Trade Zone.
It should not be left unmentioned that Chabahar is located in 700 kilometer to the south of Zahadan ,the capital of Sistan-Baluchestan Province ,and is recognized as the only and one ocean port outside of IRI Hormoz Strait.
