Collaboration Agreement between Two Classification Institutes

A collaboration contract was signed between Iranian Classification Society (ICS) and the Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (LR) of England. This agreement was finalized only after the auditors of Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) completed their periodic auditing of Lloyds.

Collaboration Agreement between Two Classification InstitutesIn regards with this mutual collaboration, MANA reported, ICS C.E.O. remarked that ICS has chosen to work with LR as it is one of the pioneer classification institutes worldwide. Following the execution of JCPOA and the lifting of sanctions in Iran, the content of this mutual agreement pave the way for ICS and LR to perform dual-class auditing from IRISL fleet upon their owners' request, and would grant them rankings. The first upside of this strategy is promoting the knowledge and skills of ICS auditors in the light of their collaboration with LR auditors.
As to the benefits that the agreement for which over a year of negotiation has been made, Hassan Rezasafari stated that LR is a pioneer and a top-notch international-scale classification organization, and it is needless to say that the main privileges of this agreement should first-hand involve the nation and the youth of Iran.
On the other hand, Mr. Prizad, the representative of LR office stressed that he is proud as an Iranian to witness the collaboration of such a great organization as LR with ICS. Never has LR looked at ICS as a competitor, and it will carry on its activities in Iran peace and with confidence, he continued.
