According to MANA, HHI, which includes subsidiaries Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (SHI) and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD), said in a Korea Exchange filing that so far this year, the group has won firm orders for 39 vessels worth USD2.3 billion, a three-year high.
In April alone, the group clinched 18 newbuilding orders totalling USD900 million.
The new orders that the HHI group won comprise 13 oil tankers, two liquefied gas carriers, 18 products tankers, and six other vessel types.
