DP World sees results surge

DP World has reported a 47.8% surge in first half net profit to $673m on the back of its expanding global empire.

DP World sees results surgeAccording to MANA, The Dubai-based terminal operator said revenue increased 10.2% year-on-year to $2.1bn as container throughput inched up 1.6% to 14.6mteu.
DP World attributed the increase in revenue to the acquisitions of Jebel Ali Free Zone (UAE) and Canada’s Prince Rupert.
“This financial performance has been achieved despite uncertain market conditions, which once again demonstrates the resilient nature of our portfolio,” said DP World Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem
