ّFire at Singapore Shipyard Extinguished After Seven-hour Operation
Singapore firefighters have extinguished a fire that broke out on a large cargo barge berthed at Sembcorp Marine shipyard in Tuas, Singapore, reports said.
The fire was said to have raged on for seven hours due to the contents of a room in the barge at Sembcorp Marine Shipyard in Singapore, MANA correspondent reported.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the fire at the shipyard. About 70 SCDF personnel were sent to the scene, together with firefighting vehicles.
Local reports said no one was onboad the barge at the time of the fire, but a firefighter sustained a minor injury during the operation.
The actual cause of the fire is under investigation.
