IRISL Visited Norway’s Ulstein Group ASA

The Chairman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line (IRISL) and the delegate accompanying him paid a visit to the Norwegian Ulstein Group ASA.

IRISL Visited Norway’s Ulstein Group ASAMANA reported that Dr. Mohammad Saeedi, accompanied by some of the senior managers of IRISL visited different parts of Ulstein Group ASA including the roofed ship yard, office and administrative sectors, and the ready-to-be-delivered vessels.
In this visit, Dr. Saeedi met with the Ulstein C.E.O., and proposed that a technical team from Ulstein pay a visit to Persia Hormoz Ship Repair Yard, and pave the way for collaborations in technology transfer, and the construction and equipping of vessels, particularly in the off-shore section.
Welcoming this proposal warmly, Ms. Gunvor Ulstein remarked that her company will make plans for visiting Persia Hormoz Ship Repair Yard before the end of the March this year.
Being over 100 years old, Ulstein Group ASA is the exclusive designer of X-BOW in vessels worldwide. This amazing design leads to better stability and balance and enables the vessels to perform more effectively, especially in rough weather conditions.
Ulstein Group ASA is currently operating actively in four different areas: Vessel design and innovation, ship building, control, power and designing equipment. This company collaborates closely with ship building yards in different countries such as China, Poland, Brazil, and United Arabic Emirates. This company has made striking progress in information technology, promotion and unification of navigation technology, control, and electrical and mechanical fields.
In 2015 only, this corporation has completed and delivered 30 vessels, 20 of which were built in Chinese companies. Moreover, the body of the vessels constructed in Ulstein yard are transferred to this company through Polish ship yards.
Currently, the first vessel with X-BOW design in both ends (bow and stern) is being constructed.
Interestingly, the history of Ulstein Group ASA has it that Rolls Royce Company was shaped and earned popularity by purchasing technology from Ulstein.
